Images are most Important For a blogger and every blogger struggles to find the best-fit image for their work. The more pictures are good, the better the blog looks, moreover it increases the engagement. If you are blogging on google or using Google AdSense then you should not use copyrighted images. Everyone has had the problem that they actually need a nice picture and don’t have one at hand. If you use Google, it can quickly lead to a lawsuit, so this is something you should definitely avoid if you want to make it proper. The solution is royalty-free images from certain image databases that are accessible for best of all: free of charge. Today you will find various websites from where you can download copyright-free images.

Thanks to talented and generous photographers, there are thousands of stunning free stock photos for you to use in your websites and projects many of them without attribution. Every creator cannot shot photos and create images according to their blogs, thus such royalty-free and free-to-use websites are very helpful.

All the images on these sites are free to use for personal, editorial, or commercial purposes but there are still a couple of restrictions to bear in mind.

I have curated a list of the best websites that you can use to download images as well as stock photos for your projects and blogs.

Pexels

Pexels has a large library of images to choose from. One of my favorite features is the ability to customize the download to an exact size width and height. Pexels also has several tools that can help streamline a content marketer's workflow. They have a Chrome Extension, Apps for both Windows and Mac Desktops, Photoshop plugins, and add-ins for Microsoft Office Word and Powerpoint.

The best free stock photos & videos shared by talented creators.

The best thing about Pexels is that you can always give proper copyright to the creator and mention them in your work.

Unsplash

Unsplash is a website dedicated to sharing stock photography under the Unsplash license. The website claims over 207,000 contributing photographers and generates more than 17 billion photo impressions per month on their growing library of over 2 million photos. Unsplash is a minimalist-designed website that has a nice library of images. I’ve been using the site for years. It’s an easy-to-navigate website and they have nice collections of images.

The best feature about Unsplash is that you can get the original quality images without compromising with the resolution.

Pixabay

Stunning free images & royalty-free stock

With over 1.9 million+ high quality stock images, videos, and music shared by our talented community. Pixabay is one of the largest providers of free photos, vectors, videos, and illustrations. It’s also one of the more well-known sites in this genre. They also have Android and iOS Apps which come in handy.

It is the best website for sharing photos, illustrations, vector graphics, film footage and music, exclusively under the custom Pixabay license, a modified and somewhat more restrictive version of the Creative Commons CC0 license.

StockSnap.io

All images found on StockSnap are free from copyright restrictions and they don’t require attribution. Just like Unsplash above, StockSnap images fall under the CC0 license, enabling you to use the images as you wish.

freestocks.org

This is a very simple website that offers really nice stock images that are licensed under Creative Commons Zero. The pictures are well organized based on categories and tags.

Gratisography

This is one of my favorites. There’s only one photographer that contributes to this site, Ryan McGuire. His pictures displays a lot of emotion and they are unique which is a difficult task considering the number of sites that offer free images.

FreeImage.com

Browse over 300000 free stock photos and find the perfect royalty-free image quickly. Download free, high quality stock images, for everyday or commercial use.

I personally prefer to use Pexels and Unsplash, because they have the best libraries and have a very clean, advertisement-free interface.

One thing as a creator you should remember to mention the correct credits of the author or the website from where you have picked the photo.

After all #ArtistSupportsArtists…
